Aims

The aim of this course is to ensure ductwork cleaning in compliance with guidelines and BS EN 15780 and LPS 2084, EC852:2004 Quality Standard for legal and insurance purposes, NAAD21 & TR19 Guidelines.

What will you learn?

The AEME Ventilation Hygiene Course has been independently reviewed, and improved to cover criteria of the National Occupational Standards, including the BSEBSE01, BSEBSE02, and the BSEHV11 – the National Occupational Standards for Cleaning Industrial and Commercial Ventilation Systems.

On completion of the course you will receive a certificate to that will support demonstration of competence. 

Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand your legal responsibilities, liabilities as a kitchen extract cleaner

  • Use specialist cleaning machinery incl. Rotary Brush machine; Air Mover; Remote Cameras

  • Physically Cutting and fitting of Access Panels

  • Identify and test areas that may need cleaning, use WFTT (Wet Film Thickness Test)

  • Complete knowledge and understanding how Air Conditioning systems operate

  • Understand latest legislative standards relevant to the industry

  • Carrying out sampling procedures – PVT, NADCA and Dipslides

  • Identify and test areas that may need cleaning

  • Use of wet film thickness gauge

  • Use of chemicals

Is this course for you?

This long-established two-day course is designed for those companies or individuals who want to progress and expand on the Kitchen Extract cleaning side by adding Air Conditioning systems to their portfolio.
 

This means you can become competent not only to LPS 2084 guidelines but also BSEN 15780 & EC852:2004 Quality Standard regulations.  The course includes training to enable the delegate to be able to certify work carried out to produce a certificate.

This hands on and technical course covers cleaning both the supply and extract air conditioning systems, to BS15780 & LPS 2084, including kitchen extracts to TR19 Edition 2 guidelines.    

 

All components of a system from inlet to outlet louvres, dampers, AHUs, air turning vanes, fire dampers, silencers, appropriate access panel locations, access panel cutting, and cleaning techniques using bespoke equipment for ventilation systems are covered on this course.  Visual and equipment aids are demonstrated enabling the delegate to gain experience in a real plant room situation.  

 

Verification and sampling of systems is demonstrated and explained to ensure cleaning has been carried out to the appropriate standard.  All the relevant regulations, standards and guidance documents are explained and issued in a full training pack.

At the end of the course all delegates take an exam which on passing, are issued with a Certificate of competence & ID which enables them to issue an Air Hygiene project certificates to Clients.
